Now, What I Thought:

The conclusion to this wonderful series was just..amazing. Honestly, Penryn & the End of Days, was the best series I had read in 2015, by far. This was such a thrilling explosion of action and romance all together and just squashed in 3 books, it was fantastic. I am so glad I read these books, I couldn't imagine not ever reading them because I find myself comparing a lot of new books to these. Susan Ee did an amazing and impeccable job writing this series and she definitely needs way more praise for it. Even though conclusions suck and are the most horrible thing in the world, it was time to say goodbye to Penryn and Raffe and that wonderful post-apocalyptic world.

The last book was definitely literal to the title. The end of days were coming and it was coming fast to Penryn and her group. Sacrifices were made and we really divulged into the life-threatening fights. Seriously, I though a couple of the main characters were going to die at multiple points of the novel. We had a crushing, thrilling and explosive battle at the end and it was so adrenaline-rushing to read. I was feeling worried yet proud of Penryn and Paige, and what they've accomplished and how much they've both been through!

We even get a change of setting! Penryn goes someplace where she finally gets to learn about the angels and even Raffe. It was so damn cool how smoothly the transition between the two worlds were. Ee described it beautifully and there were some pretty close calls for Penryn and Raffe's old angel friends. Yes, expect to see his old pals from long ago in this book, whether they help them or not, you'll have to read and find out ;). The romance escalated as the situations became more life-threatening and I loved every shared moment they had. I will leave you with one, very teasing quote because I just can't help it:

“So am I?” I whisper. “Your Daughter of Man?”

This was such an exiting and so satisfying way to closing the series and I will 100% miss the thrill I got from reading it the first time around. Rest assured I shall be re-reading these books a lot more in the future! Goodbye Penryn. Goodbye Raffe. Goodbye Paige. Goodbye Mom. Goodbye Watchers. Goodbye Pooky Bear and finally, Goodbye Penryn & the End of Days. It has been a pleasure reading Susan Ee's thrilling trilogy.

Now, What I Thought:

This is a perfect example of a great sequel to an amazing series. Ee did it again and made a hella great book! Penryn is so bad-ass that she can't even die! Ok, ok I know there were special circumstances and it was just luck but come on! I'm convinced Penryn will and can survive anything. After the whole dying thing, people are still pretty weary of Penryn because it's not everyday you see someone waking up from the dead, no matter the circumstances.

We learn a lot in this book, we learn more about Raffe and his brothers and past, which is nice because he feels more trustworthy and it seems like we really know his motives concerning Penryn are true and meaningful. It's pretty clear when the last book ended, that Raffe feels something for Penryn. Of course, the most anticipated thing in this book, for me at least, was the big reveal to Raffe that Penryn is alive. Which by the way guys, did not disappoint. It was very well written and even though the little love-sick girl in me wanted the reunion faster, it did happen at the perfect time and was well-paced for the plot line to thicken.

Now, the big question of the book is will the need for Raffe's wings overcome the love he has for Penryn? As usual, our protagonist finds herself in a tough and life threatening situation and Raffe's decision is critical. Aside from that, Penryn, as usual, was amazing and bad-ass. She kicked many butts and conquered many accomplishments. I liked her dynamic relationship with Obi. They respect each other which made me in turn respect Obi a lot more than in the first book. He ultimately wants to help his race, his people and it does shows. He trusts Penryn, which is good because he can clearly tell that if anyone can stop the apocalypse it's Penryn or at least her influence on Raffe.

Paige, Penryn's sister, really shone in this book! She came out of her shell, even after the horrific things that had been done to her. I really liked her lines and how empowering she was to everyone, almost like a beacon of hope and light, no matter how she looks. Of course we have problems with the other people who don't agree with keeping her alive, solely because she looks like a monster. That was just so heartbreaking to read and sad to see that her confidence would deflate just a little. But rest assured Paige rises stronger than ever and she really is a huge player in the storyline.

To end this review, I'm just going to share a quote Raffe said to Penryn after finding out his sword's name is called... Pooky Bear..., enjoy:

“He glares at me as if he already hates it. “What is it?” I consider lying but what’s the point? I clear my throat. “Pooky Bear"He’s silent for so long I’m beginning to think he didn’t hear me when he finally says, “Pooky. Bear.” “It was just a little joke. I didn’t know.” “I’ve mentioned that names have power, right? Do you realize that when she fights battles, she’s going to have to announce herself to the opposing sword? She’ll be forced to say something ridiculous like, ‘I am Pooky Bear, from an ancient line of archangel swords.’ Or, ‘Bow down to me, Pooky Bear, who has only two other equals in all the worlds.’ ” He shakes his head."

HAHAHAHAHAHAH GUYS, just read it, please.

Now, What I Thought:

AHHHHH!! I love these books. Just saying, I am reviewing this series after I've already read the whole trilogy. This was the perfect introduction and first book to this very dangerous and very addicting world. This was such a cool concept and take on Angels! It's almost believable because if Angels happen to take over the world, this is probably what would happen. I know how crazy that sounds but this book does make you think in-depth. If you are looking for a quick, light read, this is not your book. Go, read a light novel then come back and get committed. You need to be dedicated and 100% sure you want to read these books because Susan Ee did a great job really going in-depth and making pasts, and storylines very real and evident.

So, Penryn has a crazy mother, to start off with. So crazy that she (the mother) had newspaper clippings of mothers across the world who have killed their own children. Safe to say when Penryn saw this, she realized just how serious the condition her mother has, whatever it is. So in result to this, her mother sends Penryn off to all of these fighting and self-defence classes, so much that her father leaves them because of the debt they're in from the classes. Yep, pretty messed up home life. It also doesn't help that her sister was mysteriously hurt when her mother had been watching over her. So hurt that she is now crippled in a wheelchair.

Finally, the Angels comes and attack the human race. Basically the Archangel Gabriel was pissed off that God had given life to humans and spent more of his attention on them, rather than his first children, the Angels. Gabriel lead the Angels on the 'Day of Reckoning' and practically destroyed all of earth.

Now, I've done a lot of research myself on Angels and even am currently reading the Book of Enoch, which is the jewish work telling the story of the Fallen ones and Enoch's, the great-grandfather of Noah, journey with them. I've also read many literature pieces on Angels and can pride myself on knowing some information on them. So, when reading this book I was a little skeptical because all the fiction Angel books have their own theologies and such, from the author's viewpoint. I was very surprised to read that Ee has actually done her research and given the most accurate version of the origin of Angels and how they really act and behave. It is as accurate as the myth and legends tell us, so 10 points to Gryffindor for that!

The romance in this book..... wait lol what romance?....... I loved the fact there was hardly anything romantic. It's pretty obvious that Ee means to pair Penryn and Raffe together but we really focus on the getting to know the characters and the world we are in. That was a pretty smart decision because it made her book different from all of the rest, whom just want paranormal, angel-human love and romance. We really get a lot of bad-assery in this book and action! Penryn can definitely kick ass and is so fierce it even impressed Raffe when he first met the human. Penryn is also very whitty and funny! Let me just show you guys:

"That calls for a witty comeback. “Whatever,” I say. Okay, so I won’t be getting the Witty Woman of the Year Award. “Do you want me to show you how to use this or not?” I sound surly. It’s the best I can do right now."

Then,

"I’m tempted to make a quip about requiring dinner and a movie before getting so kinky, but I don’t. The last thing I need is to start making sex jokes while I’m being held prisoner in a camp full of armed men in a world where there are no laws.”

Basically you guys can tell it definitely has some dry humour which is much needed because this world is so dark and cold, it brought light to some dangerous and pretty intense moments!

Lets not forget Raffe and his humour. Im sorry guys with all the quotes but I can't help it:

“Here, I’ll show you how to use it. Let me see your foot.” [Penryn said]“That’s a pretty intimate demand in the angel world. It usually takes dinner, some wine, and sparkling conversation for me to give up my feet.”

LOL! I just can't guys. You really need to read this series! It has drama, intensity, humour, danger, fights to the death, and shocking, twisting, unexpected moments! It's literally the best depiction of fiction for Angel's out there.

Now, What I Thought:

I will admit, I didn't like this book as much as the other two. It was still a great way to end a fantastic trilogy thats for sure. I just found that at some parts, I would skim it because I thought they were unnecessary information, but thats just my opinion. Being the romantic kind of person I am, I was a bit disappointed and I feel like the ending and what happens between Gemma and Kartik was a bit odd. There is really no way else to say it. It was an odd ending for him. Im glad Libba Bray didn't kill him but still..hm... I just wish it was better in a way. I know a lot of people agree with me on this one. I wont say what happens for obvious reason of course haha. This reviews going to be pretty short because again, I was a little disappointed with Bray for this book. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic trilogy and I probably will re read the first or second book again because I truly loved them :)

Despite what I said, I think if your a person who has read the first 2 books and now are wary because of other reviews and mine (I'v read a lot and it's the same thing as my review), all I say is, please do read this one, hey maybe you'll like the ending more than us. But ultimately, i think everyone should at least finish the trilogy even if the ending sucked a little hehe.

But I will admit, the covers are amazing. Especially this one :)

Now, What I Thought:

Just like the first book, the second book was amazing! I really liked the plot of it and where it was going (where I thought it was going). So Gemma is in Spence Academy and she's the last to leave for Christmas break, one night when she's alone, she wanders off and comes across her head mistress and this new teacher that she's been suspicious about for a while. When she's hiding and listening in to their conversation, she gets a 'hunch' and learns something. I think this scene is crucial knowledge to really understand what happens later. After when she's at the train station, she notices a man following her (I would have never noticed haha!) and that's literally where all the drama begins!

I liked this book because Libba Bray had the one main plot and that was enough drama, you would think adding mini little problems would be too much right? well nope. The opposite actually! Gemma meets this man at the train station and by the way he's described, he sounds very handsome, you find out his names Lord Denby and Gemma's brother actually is acquainted wit him. Yeah.. well.. He becomes a bit of an issue for her. Not to mention, her little romance with Kartik is just adding more-- which btw, I absolutely adore Kartik for his mysterious ways ;). ANYWAYS

Surprisingly, Bray did an excellent job, because of all these little dramas, they made me want to read more into the book! And I'm pretty sure thats what she intended to do. Great job, If you loved the first one ( or if you didn't even like it) COME READ THIS! pretty good :)

Now, What I Thought:

You guys don't even understand how much I wanted to write this review!! ~~I cried so much!~~ I bawled my eyes out! Like, the ending was so heartbreaking, either for good reasons or bad reasons I will not say, you will have to read and find out! I wish I could confess everything that happened in this book and rave about every last bit, but unfortunately I can't :( YOU GUYS HAVE TO READ IT And if you haven't even read the series yet and just checking out this review for some reason, READ BOOK 1 AND BOOK 2! I cannot express how much I want you guys to experience this. I have not raved about a book like this in a very long time!

In the book, Cynthia Hand really wraps things up. But still keeps you at the edge of your seats just waiting to see what she'll throw at us! Like I remember reading the very last few pages of the book and thinking.. holy shit. She's still throwing surprises at us! Even the last page was really a shock! THE LAST PAGE! It literally made you want to turn this trilogy into a full blown series and beg her for more. I will never understand how I survived the day I finished this book after knowing it was the last for Unearthly. It was too good of a series to even finish! All I'm saying is that, I wish this were more than a trilogy. But it was a FANTASTIC friggan trilogy. Read it, like now.

Now, What I Thought:

For being a short story, this was surprisingly great! This is just Clara and Angela in Italy and we get introduced to a new character who I then realize is important in the next book, which is the real reason I posted a review for this one.

We meet Phen, (I remember him saying he was a messenger) an angel.. and at first I was all like, OH HELLO HOTTIE, but then I realized oh shit, if Clara doesn't like him than I probably shouldn't.. So you find out in the next book if Clara is right or not, but I'm sure you can guess. The thing I liked in this book especially was the alternating between Clara and Angela's POV. I liked this because you really got to see the way Angela thinks for a change, and I was right since the first book. I never liked Angela, I felt like she was too selfish and always jealous of everything if she didn't have it. She always seemed to be jealous of Clara too so that also turned me off. But in this book, you really see Angela's selfishness and such. Anyways, I think if you love this series, read this little short story. No harm in reading it, and you need to know Phen so it can fully make sense in the next book.

Now, What I Thought:

I actually already reviewed this series but decided to take it down because I don't think I really expressed how much I LOVED this book, to this day.

It starts off with Clara, a 16-year-old girl. But not just a normal girl ohhh no! She's quarter angel. She gets this vision that all angels are supposed to have once in their lifetime, a purpose her mother (half angel) calls it. In the vision, something happens (I'm not going to tell you) and she encounters a boy. Her mother tells Clara that she has to move to this new place and new school to find the boy that’s in her vision. When I read that, thats when it clicked that, oh shit this vision stuff is pretty serious. So here she is, in a new town, new school all for this one boy, she THINKS she needs to save.

My thoughts at first were like.. uh.. That’s a little extreme don't you think? After that, it began to connect and make a whole lot of sense! She meets the mysterious boy but just like every boy that is a possible love interest, he's incredibly hot! So that leads us to her being all shy and smitten with him. Now I will say one thing, there is a love triangle in this book. But THANK THE LORD, Cynthia Hand did NOT make it as bad and annoying as other love triangles out there... Which leads me to ....... CARTER! Gahhh I was Team Carter since the fricking beginning! As soon as we get introduced to the cute farmer boy, I knew! And I hope if you HAVE read this book, you agree with me! If you haven't then please for the love of god read it :) This book keeps you interested the whole time! It's incredible!!

Now, What I Thought:

Most people that have read this book probably have one thought: wow Amelie is a B E O T C H with a capital B. Personally, I like her cruelness :) why, you might ask? HELLO, being a fan of Mrynin and Claire together, what happens in this book is just a big HURRAY.

Without spoiling much, Amelie basically punishes Claire, and her punishment is to work on something with Myrnin in his lab without leaving or anything until its done. Which I will admit is pretty harsh and mean but then some "events" wouldn't happen if she didn't muahahahaahh, now I know what your thinking, OMG DO THEY KISS? unfortunately no, I'm not that mean to make you guess but no they do not, to my dismay :( but something does happen and I'm pretty sure if Shane knew about it, he would be weeping in a corner because soon, Myrnin will sweep Claire away :)

Now being a Claire and Myrnin lover, I will admit that Shane and Claire do have a good, tender moment. I do find myself going back and re-reading some parts where its pretty touching. He loves her so much and its pretty evident in this book.

Some SERIOUS problems happens in Morganville, Claire has done something that she and someone else (but mostly herself) has to fix, and quick! If she doesn't save the town in time, she will lose everyone :(

Now, What I Thought:

This was actually a pleasant book to read. It was very fast paced and quick. I read it only in a couple of hours! The thing I really liked, was that it was more realistic then other books.

For example, I have read all about how the girl's family dies in a horrible car crash and she's left in the hospital all alone etc. etc., but in other books, the authors' describe it as no big deal and next thing you know, after, maybe.. 20 pages? the girl is happy and fine with the fact she just lost everyone she loved due to a new mission. But in this book, no no no, she actually grieves and shows true emotion that we would realistically show and thats how you relate to her. I think just by relating to a character makes any book 10x more amazing! But that's just one example. If you read the book, or if you have, then you notice it happens a lot which is an awesome thing to read (in my opinion) because you know what he/she is going through exactly.

This book IS fast-paced. If you miss one page by accident you will probably miss something big. Literally. This book is A C T I O N packed! It made me want to be an angel and fight the enemy myself! LOL.
The author, Cameo Renae, really made it sound so exhilarating and fun yet scary and dangerous at the same time, it was quite bizarre. But I LOVED it! Plus, not only did the protagonist, Emma Wise, lose her parents, but she goes through a lot more. You find out so much stuff that you do end up feeling bad for her. Lets just all take a moment to praise Emma. Phew. She is like an avenging angel. She is so strong that you WISH you were as strong as her. And I mean, emotionally, mentally and soon physically. Lets forget about how strong she is for now and talk about how she has NOT 5 but 6 angels to protect her and might I just add, who are all HOOOOOOTTTTTTT!! They are: James, Malachi, Dom, Alex, Thomas and her love interest Kade. I love Kade. Obviously haha! If you read this, you will understand why there's just no way NOT to fall in love with Kade.

Sorry about my mini rant (I guess not THAT mini) but this book is a must-read! I think this is an interesting take on angels and it is kind of refreshing from books like, Hush Hush, Fallen, etc.
